So I managed to score tickets to Breaking Dawn Part 1 last week. I was actually looking forward to this movie cause the trailer actually looked epic and the sex scene! Hehehe..

For those who haven't seen the trailer?

Anyway, the seats were not numbered but we were able to get some pretty decent seats. So, what did i think of the movie? I actually thought it was pretty entertaining. They tried to inject some funny parts in it but what annoyed me the most? They freakin' censored ALL the parts that were probably the most epic/exciting parts in the movie! The sex scene, the part where the baby was born, and the part where Edward bit her to save her life. Oh, which apparently, my colleague said that he didn't bite her, he injected a needle into her. She knew cause she read the book. But what about those people who hadn't read the book? They wouldn't even know how she got transformed in the first place! WTF!

I was annoyed beyond words. I even got out of the cinema telling my bf that there's no point to even go to the movies anymore (in Malaysia) if they keep censoring movies like this. First it was Immortals, now this! Wtf man.. Freakin' Malaysian censorship board needs to get a life! You think censoring a few scenes out of a movie will make any difference to our "beloved" race in this country?!

*phew* Now all of that is out - back to the funny bits? :P Since I literally had to drag my bf to the movie, he obviously had some comments after the movie as well and he had a pretty good time making fun of the movie I must say. BUT, he does have a point when he says that Jacob always says he's leaving but he ALWAYS ends up coming back! Haha! No wonder Bella doesn't give a shit everytime he says he's leaving.

Oh wait, there was 1 thing I didn't quite like about the movie. When the twilight series first started, I was actually team edward cause he was all sweet and that. But from the 2nd ep onwards, I was team Jacob. Haha! Kudos for those who know why.. :P But this last episode.. really made him a freakin' paedophile! Sigh!!

Last but not least? I freakin' didn't know that this was part 1 of 2!! *face palm*!!!

Trying to keep my tradition alive by having Burger King's in all the airports I have been too. Thus, this entry is to commemorate my memory of the Burger King while I was in Beijing.

In Chinese, it's pronounced as "Ham Pau Wang" - I THINK! Don't laugh at me if in case I get it wrong. :P

Anyways, I didn't get the meal this time because I was in the airport at an ungodly hour - 5am!! And I was actually too sleepy/tired to eat anything. So I just got a Double Cheese Bacon burger. But in the end? I ate my burger even before I boarded the plane. :P Boy - I felt sick! Imagine eating that early in the morning! BUT, I have to say, it was quite satisfying. Not sure if it's because I have been having chinese food for the last 5 days there. :P Anyways, burger had BBQ sauce in it which gave it a slight sweet taste to it yet still being able to taste all the preservatives of the burger patty! Haha!

Burger only costed me RMB23 which is equivalent to RM12.50! Don't remember how much a meal costs though. Forgot to take a picture of the actual burger. Was too stoned and lazy to do it actually.. :P

Managed to score 2 tickets to watch Immortals at 1U yesterday (kudos to my friend!). So obviously went with my bf. Actually I had not heard of this movie before until my we saw a billboard which was advertising this movie and my bf said that he wanted to watch it.

When I was offered these tickets, I quickly accepted them as I knew my bf was interested. Anyways, so we went to collect our tickets, my friend informed me that the film distributor that brought this show in was one that has not had a good track record on my list - not going to name this film distributor due to work reasons :P but let's just say my expectations for this film dropped drastically after that.

Before I go on, perhaps you guys should take a look at the trailer first below. Btw, I hadn't watched the trailer myself till this blog post.

Hmm.. doesn't look to exciting huh? Well, to my surprise, I actually quite enjoyed the movie. It was definitely full of violence/gory stuff therefore very appealing to all guys. For the ladies? Well, most of the men in there had 6 packs? Enough incentive? Haha! Okok, in all seriousness, without trying to give out too much info and spoiling the movie for everyone - I quite liked the movie. Only problems for me were:

  1. The lead actor didn't seem very charming enough. Thought he would have been better casted by someone like Brad Pitt or Russell Crow. But he was quite good looking laa. :P
  2. There were too many cut scenes!! Unsure if it was because the movie was too gory or what but it was weird because there were even cuts during the conversation bits which was possibly the most exciting bit as it probably built up the plot. It kinda felt like the movie roll got damaged or maybe even someone was getting some up there in the movie room (you know, the little room up above the cinema where the light comes out from and plays the film) because not only was scenes cut, the whole movie was pushed out of frame!
  3. There were some anomalies I felt during the last scene but I am not going to say anything as that would probably ruin the story for you. However, don't think it was that important but do let me know whether you feel the same when you guys have watched it ya!
Other than the above? Yea - would recommend you guys to go watch it. However, probably only worth it if the cut scenes were fixed. It really really annoyed me during the movie. So yea..

Saw this sign when I was climbing the Great Wall of China in Beijing coupla days ago.

I didn't know that cellphones could speak! Must be some new technology? :P
19 September, 2011

Was at work today and it was friend's birthday. Started to ask her how she was going on celebrating her b'day and how she should have taken a day off just to rest and relax and not be at work. Friend went on to say that she felt old and for some strange reason, I always thought that she was younger than me. What follows would be best told in a dialougue format to make sure I captured the essence of the conversation right.

Liyen: Har? Old? How old are you? I think I'm older than you!
Friend: I'm 26. You?
Liyen: Oh, 26 this year? I'm 25 this year. Means you're older than me.
Friend: Oh.. so born in 1986?
Liyen: No.... 1985! Wait! OMFG! does that men i'm 26 too?! OMG!! WTF!

Hahahaha!

I finally went to watch transformers last weekend - late much? :P

I was like freakin' sitting at the corner of my seat the whole time! It was so kan-cheong that my bf said that I was practically talking to screen while IN the cinema! I used to have a colleague (a guys btw) that said that he would have Optimus Prime's babies and I would think he was mad. But after that movie, I wanted to have his babies! Haha! :P

What I couldn't believe was that the Sentinel was a baddy! I thought he was going to be the saviour but noooo.. he had to bring the freakin' Cybertron to earth! WTF! Go get your own planet! :P he was such a disgrace to his kind! Disappointed!

Anyway, was super duper upset when I found out that Michael Bay only signed up for 3 movies and that there weren't gonna be anymore movies after this one. What are we going to do without transformers now?!

Keeping this short because everyone in the world would have watched it already so no real point in giving a review? :P

My attempt at blogging for the first time after a long while. And contradictory to my headline title - NO! I am not going to blog about Captain America. WHY?

BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN IT!!

And why is that some people might ask?

Because there are some really selfish people out there who do not have even 1 single brain cell in their head! Freakin didn't want to 'yeong' seats to us because he wanted to sit with his freakin' gf! WHICH BTW, he could have easily have done if he just swapped seats with us. He'll just have to sit with his OTHER friends as well? Wadda dick!

Oh! And you know how to top that? HE didn't even GO for the movie! WTF!!!!!!!!

Sorry! Uber angers because who can resist this?!! :D

Tuesday, 19th July 2011

Was sending my bf home to TTDI just then and there was a massive jam on the sprint highway. Bf and me already guessed that it was an accident considering it was 10.45pm at night! The accident was pretty bad, there was a motorist lying on the floor and a Golf GTI with 1 wheel short and facing pretty much the opposite direction.

A few photos I managed to take from my phone. Sorry for the bluriness, car was moving and phone camera not so hot..

But that's not really the point of this blog. As I was driving home from TTDI on the sprint, I could still see the jam on the opposite direction. I looked at my rear mirror and saw a car driving REALLY fast - so fast that I thought he was going to hit me because he ended up 'tiong-ing' me damn close! But once we got to where we could see the accident, he braked SOOOO fast that I thought that he could be a loved one of one of the victims of the accident and that he was going to stop by the side of the road to get to them! But NOOOOO.... he didn't stop by the side of the road. He just slowed down to see what was happening. Once we passed the scene of the accident, he just sped off again after.

Now won't you call this a classic cause of Kepoh Malaysians!
This is just a 1 liner post which I am doing just before going to work.

26th May 2011

So, for those who don't know. I was actually MIA to HK for a coupla days at the beginning of May... Hehehe.. Took a few days off work to come for a short holiday cause bf is in between jobs. Picked HK for a coupla reasons:

1) Managed to get quite cheap tickets (RM580 for return) - would have been cheaper if I bought them 2 weeks earlier cause AA was doing a promo.
2) Have coupla cousins staying in HK so free accommodation! Woots! Thanks Wei ko! :D
3) Bf has not been to HK before.

Anyways, left last Friday afternoon. Arrived at about 9pm cause AA was slightly delayed. Cousin had arranged for a friend to come and pick us up from the train station cause he was still in KL and the friend needed to pick up some stuff from his house anyways.

Just some random photos below before we got to HK.

But yea - even on our first night, we already had a slight adventure:

1) The friend had brought the wrong keys with her cause we couldn't open my cousin's apartment door! We then headed back to her place (which luckily was only like 5 mins drive away) to check her place. Luckily we managed to find the correct key! Haha! Was worried we were going to homeless for 2 nights!

2) Me and bf decided to go and brave HK since it was a Friday night and we hadn't really had dinner. Called my cousin and he told us that we were able to walk it to Central and would only take us 20 mins! Wah.. but that was a freakin' long 20 mins mannnn!! LOL! Probably took us more like 40 mins! Haha! We then came to a deduction that it was because HK people probably walk alot faster! Anyways, got to my cousin's suggested place at about 12.30am only to realise that they closed so we ended up in the char chan teng next door.

Bf's prawn with HK sauce noodles.

Bf sipping HK Lai cha! It was yummy! but bf couldn't sleep after that.

My fish ball and fish paste soup. Not bad I must say.

If I remember correctly, our bill came up to about $100++ HKD which was about RM40 meal. Which was okay I guess but considering it was char chan teng stuff? Hmm.. How much do people normally pay to eat in Kim Gary's? I haven't been there in ages. But is it roughly the same price?

After we ate, we didn't want to have to hike all the way back to my cousin's place, so we decided to just take a cab. Btw, felt that cabs in HK were so expensive! Once you jump into the cab, they start at $18 HKD! That's like RM7 already!
Tuesday, 3rd May 2011

So bf managed to score some free tickets to the premier (ie. last Wednesday) for Thor from Time Out KL in Mid Valley. So we went right after work for dinner. Had a craving for Ireland Potatos and bubble tea (Cha Time had just open in Mid Valley!) for some reason - weird combo huh? But that was what we had for dinner. :P

Anyway, headed up to go and pick up our tickets and guess who saw?! Our very own Asian THOR!!! *Rawr!!* Haha! Dude was kinda err.. I dunno... weird? I know he was trying to be the cool Thor and all but not having a single expression on your face? Hmmm...

So we got into the cinema, and what we didn't know was that our tickets were for 3D Thor! I didn't know to happy or sad because to be honest, am not a fan of 3D movies. They always tend to give me a headache. My only other 3D movie would have to be Avatar I think. Watched it in Signature and for some reason that was okay. However, didn't think Thor was necessary to watch it 3D though. There were even some parts where I actually just took off my glasses to watch because the "nose piece" was actually hurting me. The only thing I was missing out on? Haha! 3D subtitles! Woots! :P

What did I think of Thor? It was freakin' amazing. Not going to say anymore because people should just watch it. Chris Hemsworth though was uber hot (only his body and 6 pack). Don't really like his scruffy-ness in the show. Also, just found out that he also starred in Star Trek as George Kirk! Now HE was hot then! Haha! Anyhow, bf actually read from somewhere that Chris Hemsworth showed up on set on the 1st day of filming TOO buff. Sooo buff that they had to delay shooting for 2 weeks so that they could put him on a cut down regime AND re-size his costume so that he could fit into it again.

Trailer of the movie below. To be honest, when I first saw this trailer, I was like "meh.. another fantasy story for the kids". But boy was I wrong. :P

Note: Stay back until the VERY END for sneak peak to the Avengers!

Happy labour day! And tomorrow is a holiday - yay! :P

*Spoiler alert*

Damn syok sendiri. Getting back to the title of the blog. Managed to go and watch Source Code with a coupla of colleagues from work.

Bf made me skeptical about this movie because apparently he seen the trailer and thought that this movie would have kinda been another Adjustment Bureau. (ie. love story-ish). Although there were some elements of the movie that made me go wtf because it was just so sudden (particular when it came to Jake Gyllenhall and the chica in the movie)

Anyway, starring Jake Gyllenhall and a few other characthers I don't know, (:P) This movie starts with Jake waking up in a moving train and in someone elses body (think Quantum Leap - for those who haven't seen this, go Google :P). He panics as he's unsure what or how he got there. The next thing you know, the train blows up and he ends up in a small shuttle with a lady officer trying to talk to him and get information on what he had just seen.

It turns out that Jake was actually a soldier fighting in Afghanistan. The lady officer then tries to jolt his memory by doing a few memory exercises. He later finds out that he was being sent on a mission to try and find the bomber of that particular train he was in as there was another threat of a nuclear explosion. How was he going to do that?

The US Govt. had created a programme called the Source Code, that allows them to send someone (in this case, was Jake) to take over someone's body in his or her last eight minutes of life. What they didn't know though was that it was actually more than that! Won't wanna spoil it for you guys but you will just have to watch the movie for yourself! Trailer for movie below!

29th April 2011 - what an exciting day for everyone!

First it was the Royal Wedding. I even knew people who purposely took days off just to watch the Royal wedding. I guess it is quite exciting. Just trying to imagine myself as Kate. What are the chances of you getting married into royalty!

Second - iPad2 launch in Malaysia! Again, I knew of people who made their husbands go line up in front of the shop so that they could get the iPad2! I don't blame them. It's so sexayyy and nice!

Last but not least?! Maroon 5 concert! Just got back from it actually. Pretty good I must say! Will blog more about it with pictures and video to show!

Can you imagine if a person did all 3 of the above! It would have been a super long day for them!

Bumblebee finally had his wash last weekend - after probably close to 9 months going with out one! :P In that 9 months, I've had to take my doggies to and from houses, perhaps to the vet as well a coupla times. Mum also takes it to the market btw. :P Dun judge me! Imma girl! Which girl washes their own car?! Plus, have been complaining to bf that I wanted to take it for a wash for the longest time and he only took me to this place that was near his house last weekend! So not my fault! Blek!

But yea, car was getting really bad. Dust was all over the place. And worse part was I had dog fur EVERYWHERE! Until the point that I was so shy to use my car for anything besides transporting me and my bf. If it's anyone else, I'll try and get them to drive instead! :P

Anyway, so Bumblebee is nice and shinny now. Not bad for RM10 job which includes vacuum. Only thing I can say was that the guys probably didn't want to clean it properly because they kinda knew what fur was stuck on my matts etc. But either way, it's way cleaner now. :P Now all I need is an air refreshner to mask the smell of my doggies. Hekekeke.. :P

Had been craving for 2 things in the past coupla weeks - WonTon (not even the noodles :P but since it came with it.. why not) and Nuggets.

Therefore, am in the search to try and find the best WonTon mee around! Have definitely already tried a coupla places but since it was not blogger about - I will start afresh! :P First stop? Damansara Kim. I did not take down the name of the coffee shop but it's the one that is further away from EuroDeli.

Photo doesn't quite do justice for the noodles. I had already mixed it around once. Therefore, there is a few more pieces of charsiew to what you see in the photo. :P Also, forgot to take a photo of the WonTon! *face palm* (Damn fail right considering WanTon is supposedly my main focus and not the noodles?!)

Anyways, noodle was only okay. The black sauce did not seem to have any taste making the noodles quite tasteless. The charsiew on the other hand was actually not bad. And the WonTon? It came in a small bowl with only 2 WonTon's. I think the lady had forgotten to mix up her pork mince because 1 of them (which was the first one I ate) had no taste at all while the other was REALLY salty. Having said that, for those who know me or have been reading my blog, I am one who fancies salty food and the 2nd WonTon had actually boosts some points for this stall. :P
Monday, 25th April 2011

Went for a drink last Friday night with some of my bf's friends in Devi's corner in TTDI. One of his friends went to apparently order Apom. I was like where in the world is he going to get Apom here? Apparently, the stall just outside of Devi's corner does! I was uber excited!

Apom was my favourite snack while growing up. I remember my dad used to buy them for every weekend when we went to the market. He kinda stopped buying them for me once the prices kept going up and he suddenly came to realise that it was getting too expensive and not worth paying for something which was just made out of flour.

Anyway, back to the Apom stall - I've always seen the stall there when going back to my bf's place but I never what they sold. From the looks of it (from inside the car), I always thought that they were selling Chinese newspaper or something. :P

So anyway, first thing my bf's friend told me was that the guys that were manning the store were deaf - like literally. He had to point and use hand gestures to order. I didn't think much of it then.

So his apom arrived and then I realised that he had CHEESE in it! I was like wtf?! what kind of Apom has cheese in it?! Apparently, this store's speciality is not just normal Apom, he makes Apom with "stuffing"! He adds cheese, egg, banana, nuttella, etc. I had never seen/tasted this kind of Apom before! And so I was even MORE excitied! See below for his menu (abit blur cause it was taken at night with my phone)!

What's not in this menus is his specialty Apom with durian!

I had a bite of my bf's friend's apom and it was pretty good! The Apom was slightly thicker than the normal ones we get from the pasar/hawker stall and yet still nice and crispy! Plus the cheese part made it even yummier since I'm a fan of cheese! Bf couldn't resist at the end and he even bought one. :D

Just looking at the guys striving to make ends meat made me feel bad for them. :( Also, bf told me rumour has it that they are selling Apom to help support their home for the mute and deaf children. How true that is, I'm not sure. Tried Googling and nothing came up. But even if it's not true, I was like we should buy an Apom from them everynight just to support them. :P
Saturday, 23rd April 2011,

I know this is kinda late to blog about the Energizer Night Race considering it has gotten so much grief from the media since the race. But thought I should just blog about my experiences for the night.

Left the house with my sister and bro-in-law at about 6ish to Sepang and only arrive at about 7.15-7.20?? Kind our fault slightly cause I think we ended up taking the wrong turn and went through the back way which definitely took us a longer time to reach. Anyways, once we got there and parked, only did we realise we had to walk another erm.. 500m - 1km to reach the building. We needed to pee so badly so badly so we quickly used the toilet. We then continued to cross what everyone calls the "tunnel of death". Once on the other side, first thing we saw was that ALL the headlights were gone. Which was our first dissapointment (not a big one but still). Me and sister was just thinking should Energizer know how many people registered? Anyway, didn't really phase us. So we just continued.

Me and bro-in-law were doing the half mara. Once we got there, we heard on the PA system that it was going to start soon ON the track itself. But there was SOOO many people and NO signage on where to go, we were kinda lost for a second. Me and bro-in-law was rushing to try and get to the start line before they started. They started counting down.. I got so desperate I ended up just jumping over the fence. :P We managed to catch our breathes for a min or 2 before the race actually started but the walk FROM the carpark to the starting line already got us sweating!

Anyway, horn went off and we started. We started moving.. but VERY SLOWLY though! To the point that bro-in-law asked to confirm whether we had started. What was holding the line was because we all had timing chips, we ALL had to squeeze through a small lane to make sure we had ran over the mats! I'm sure it took us a good 3 minutes from where we were standing to actually get through the small lane.

Anyway, for the 21km runners, our route was to do 1 large loop outside and then 2 loops inside the track. My outer loop was pretty good - enough water stations (which was all that mattered to me in a run). Only thing I have to complain about was that although they had water stations, they only had 2 tiny tables which resulted to everyone crowding around the tables just to get a drink! Drink stations are just meant to be on the go and shouldn't have a need for people crowding and waiting. I had to even pour my own drink. Anyways, as I was saying. Apart from the small tables, I was quite happy with the run. I was doing good time and was pretty satisfied with the number of drink stations therefore I didn't drink much thinking that I could get more in the next one.

Once we got to the circuit though was a totally different story. Circuit was quite a hard route to run for me actually. Having being able to see the grand stand (which was the start of the loop) the whole time kinda played mind tricks on me thinking that it was just around the corner. Apart from that, it was quite hilly as well! Lastly, there was only 1 drink stop in the WHOLE track which was a 5km loop! Add mind games + hilly + 1 drink stop = total FAIL for me. And that was my only issue with the run. When I finished, I really felt like I couldn't breathe. Felt like I was going to pass our or vomit at the same time. Not sure if that's even possible but that's how I felt.

Everyone had complained about riots during goodie bag pick up etc but I was still doing my run then, so am not sure what happened. I saw the line yes - I heard the lady over the PA system yes. But did not see anything else.

Sorry - really lengthy blog without pictures huh?? Couldn't take any photos cause had left the phone in the car. Anyway, finished my run in really poor timing. Was really not happy with self. Had to walk pretty much the last loop cause I was dying. Left me with a pretty demoralising feeling right after the run and have not ran since that night.
Tuesday, 12 April 2011,

For those who remember, me and my bf made a new year resolution to try and go out station at least once  month. It is now April, and we have only done it twice - once in Feb to Aus and last Sunday, to Seremban. I guess I went to Penang in March but I personally think it shouldn't count cause I didn't go with him.

Anyways, why Seremban? Because there's this food court above the Seremban wet market which serves really nice awesome Hakka noodles. The first time I went there was after a hiking trip in Broga in 2009! Store is called Tow Kee and the wet market is located on Jalan Pasar. Why is it so special? My bf swears that they boil the noodles in pig lard because the "sauce" is slightly thicker than your usual. How true that is, I'm not sure. All I know is that it is super yummy. Even ta pau-ed 10 packets to bring home!! Haha!

What's terrible about this place is that because it's situated above the wet market, getting to the shop is seriously a struggle! The place REALLY stinks and I mean really!! I seriously felt like puking when I got there. The bottom floor smells fishy and when you go upstairs, next to toilets - OMG *puke*. Smelt like the toilet hadn't been washed in years! Doesn't help much that there is a HUGE drain like just outside the market.

Moving along - I forgot to bring my camera again (sucky blogger huh?), so all credits to photos below goes to Google Images ya!

Photo of the market from outside

Sunday, 10th April 2011,

I know this is late - blogging about last Sunday but better late than never? Hehe! Anyways, made my bf take me to Pavilion last weekend cause I was kinda sick of the malls around my area. We hardly go down to KL so I took this as a special day out for me - it was a big day with big shoes to fill! So corny right? :P Only said that cause I wanted to post these photos below :P

Found this shoe in a super hero shop which sells RM100++ t-shirts even for kids! Anyways, check out how big the shoe is compared to my feet!

Found these Havaianas outside Pavi. So tell me - wasn't this a big day with big shoes to fill? :P

Anyways, once we got down town, what we didnt' know was Red Bull was actually doing an event. They had stands up and they even blocked the whole Bukit Bingtang road. We were lucky that we got there early so we managed to get to the parking. They even brought an actual F1 car to take a drive down the road. It was really hot that day, so we didn't stay to watch that but even when in Pavi, we could hear the sound of the cars. Managed to get some photos below:

Once we got to Pavi, we got some lunch at Ben's which is on the 6th/top floor of Pavi. This place was apparently opened by the same guys who did Delicious.

Look at my anti social bf who was playing with his ipad while he was out with me. :P

Decor of the place. Quite nice and cosy.

Our food. We ordered the mac and cheese and also the cheeseburger. Burger was yummy with a nice onion sauce on the the top. For those who have tried the burger in Plan B, me and bf felt that this place was much better. Mac & cheese was good too. But to be honest, I have never had it before in my life. So according to bf (who used to stay in the US and where Mac & Cheese is quite normal), it was quite good. Although, thought it was quite jelak towards the end - it was baked with 3 types of cheese!

Last photo for the blog - check out the huge lamp! Guy was taken in the photo to use as a gauge of how big/tall the lamp is.

Sunday, 3th April 2011

FML! What did I get myself into! Me and sister have been talking about doing the full marathon for some time now but we haven't really done much to train for it. To be honest, I'm getting a bit too tired to wake up in the mornings now to run. Haha! don't know if this comes with age? :P Anyways, sister got jolted to sign up for the full marathon 1 day because she found out one of her friends who only started running last year signed up for the full too! Immediately, she signed up for herself and me!

For those who don't know, a full marathon is 42kms long! 42 freakin' kms! That's like running all the way to erm erm.. subang and back from my place!

Anyway, went for our usual weekend run yesterday and boy was that run bad! I felt like I was going out of breathe, my thighs started to hurt! Unsure if this was because I'm kinda still SLIGHTLY sick and body is not working at 100% to take oxygen in.. OR the fact that I haven't been training much during the weekdays anyway and it's ruining my weekend runs. Eitherway, the pressure is on, there's only 13 weeks till the full marathon. Have a half marathon in 2 weeks which I don't even know if I can do it now... :S Sis is still pumped like madd and already researching and coming up with timelines for our training!!

I guess worse comes to worse, i'll just walk the whole way?! I have walked 30kms before?! haha.. what's another 12 rite? RITE? :P
Tuesday, 29th March 2011

Blog inspired by my brother. Haha! Guess it feels good to know that people out there do read my nonsense. Anyway, he was asking about Paranormal Activity 2 at dinner just then and since I hadn't blogged about it yet - so I thought I'd do up a blog now.

Actually watched paranormal activity quite a few weeks back. Thought that the first movie was must better though. This movie just kinda explained why the first chiq in the first movie got possessed and what happened AFTER she killed her husband/fiancee (I can't remember who it is now). So therefore, it was pretty much a paralel pre-quel. Also thought that this movie had slightly less scary scenes than the first.

Movie started out with a couple bringing home their new born baby. It then went on to show that they're house got broken into hence getting CCTV's installed in the entire house. Felt that this was to satisfy some of the feedback they got from the first movie. If I remember correctly, alot of people (bf included) couldn't not stand how shakey the camera was in the first movie. Hence the CCTV' to ensure a stable recording. Anyway, moved to the mum starting to hear weird noises in the house and then their older daugther. Dad did not believe a word they said until he found his wife kinda just dazed and hypnotised. Shall not spoil what they did after that so you guys will just have to watch it. :P Anyways, as usual, trailer below:

Check out 0:54 - the baby is seen in the mirror reflection but not in his actual cot - jeng jeng jeng!!!

LOL! For those out there scared to watch the actual trailer above, see the one below! LOL! Found it when I was looking for the official trailer.

About 2 weeks ago, on a Thursday, dad suddenly decided to uproot the whole family to go to Penang during the weekend for my grandma's birthday. I was actually kinda lazy to go cause if we went, it was going to be only for a day (ie. fly in Sat and come back on Sun). Anyway, decided to go anyway, which was a good thing because it turned out that my my grandmother was turning 90! Something my dad forgot to mention! Yes yes - I know, I guess I should have gone anyway even if she wasn't turning 90 but hey! 90 is a good age! And that deserve celebrating!

Anyhow, we flew down by Firefly. Was kinda surprised with them and their timing actually. Have heard many stories that actually delayed a flight for more than 12 hours before! But when we went, our flight took off on the dot. But when we came back, flight was actually delayed for 30 mins, but yet, we still managed to arrive about 10mins later than original. So ya!

Anyway, this was actually going to be my first time on a Firefly airplane so I was kinda excited to see the propellers! So, as jakun as I am, I HAD to take some photos as I was walking to the plane. :P

The flight there was terrible! I don't know if it was because it was a really misty day or what. But I swear, at 1 point, I really thought the plane was going to crash! *choi choi*. Shouldn't be saying things like this! The turbulence was just terrible! And when we landed? Oh emmm efff geee... :S

Nothing happened to us of course, if not I wouldn't have been able to eat / take pictures of the delicious char kuey teow below. Both taken from 2 different places. Don't ask me how to get there because I wouldn't have a clue. Had 2 meals (not including grandma's dinner) and I had char kuey teow for both. I don't know why, but somehow Penang manages to cook the yummiest char kuey teow eva! It just taste so different to the one in KL!

P/s: Sorry, it's past midnight and I had forgot to rotate the photo beforehand and am kinda lazy to do so now. :P
Bro and dad had a gala time, they pretty much ordered like an extra serving each meal to go around and share. Above is a photo of Hokkien mee. Also pretty good if you asked me. Need to make eating trips down to Penang more often! Hehehe..

Went to watch Battle LA coupla nights ago. Bf managed to get free tickets - woots! Don't worry, no spoiler alert this time. Why? Cause this movie is THE BOMB! So, I'm not going to ruin it for you. But... for those who already know what this show is about, I think you can probably already figure out the gist of the show. To be honest - I actually didn't know that this show even existed. Only reason I said yes to go for this show was cause of my friends FB update which said how good this was compared to Skyline!

Movie poster followed by trailer below:

All I can say? Aaron Eckhart is my new hero!! :D

JUST GO WATCH IT GUYS!

It's been almost a month of not blogging AGAIN! Sorry... :(

After I came back from Australia I was just having post holiday syndrome and after that, worked just picked up like nobody's business!

Anyways, here I am. Back again! Just a short one to kick it off. Did you know...

That there is this place is Austria called "Fucking"? Don't believe me? Click the link! It's even on Wikipedia.

Was out for yum cha yesterday with my bf's friends and they told me about it. It's tiny ass town in Austria with a population of only 104 people. Surprising isn't it? You would think with a town name like that - you'd have more people in it? :P

Anyway - their town signage is the most popular visitor attraction and is also the most stolen by souvenir hunting tourists. This apprently is the only crime in the town as well. Each stolen sign is actually costs 300 Euros to replace!

Haha! Interesting ain't it? Read more about it on Wiki!

Monday, 31st January 2010

1st day in Australia and had already crossed 2 items off my list of food. Will try and blog about all of them but this post is meant for the Red Rooster chips from Eastwood.

These red rooster chips in Eastwood is not the same as any other Red Rooster chips. I had to learn that the hard way. It was only then did I realise that the Eastwood joint was privately owned. First difference was that the chips in Eastwood were crinkle cut, the other joints were normal fat chips. Second difference was the chicken salt. The Eastwood chicken salt is to die for. I think that's like the best chicken salt I've taste so far!

Me and my friends used to get red rooster chips almost every week! So today, I went again with them.

It wasn't the same anymore. The large box felt like it shrunk and the chips - I don't know. Felt like something was missing. Even my friend said so. She figured that it was cause of the change of ownership of the store which she recognised immediately after stepping in cause of certain skin tones... (if you catch my drift).. :P

23 January, Sunday

I know this is old. But me and bf only managed to watch this recently on DVD coupla nights ago.

Staring Denzel Washington and the ever so hot Chris pine, this movie brings your 'kan cheong-ness' to the max! My usual movie watching stance is to just lie on the bed but for this movie? I was practically sitting up the whole time cause I was too kan cheong already! :P
Movie plot? Nothing very fantastic. Quite cliche stuff actually. Train gets out of control and the 2 heros above go and save the day. But the way they kept the suspense going for the whole movie was pretty good!!

Trailer below - just realised I didn't watch the trailer before. And by just watching it, also make me kan cheong! Highly recommended! For those that haven't seen it - go watch!

17th January 2011, Monday

Before I start off, just realised that I freakin' backdated my last 2 blogs to 2010! Haha! So for everyone's sake and for mine, just so I know when I come back and read my blog 10 years from now that my last 2 blogs were meant to be in 2011.. :P

So anyways - Sammy's Adventure. Finally watched it on DVD a coupla nights ago in my bf's place.

The movie started out cute and promising. But judging from how I worded my last sentence, I think you know how this movie is going to turn out.

It was down right stupid and boring. The whole movie you could tell was definitely just made for the 3D effects. The story was just bleah, no climax, no nothing. It was like watching 1+ hours of nothing because the movie kinda ended in like 2 mins just as you thought something more exciting was going to happen. I was kinda ticked off in the end because it was like wtf?!

Gah! Anyways, just don't bother watching this movie if you're expecting some sort of nice story line like Finding Nemo. Watch it only unless you want to experience the 3D effects I guess.
16th January 2011, Sunday

Can anybody tell the difference between the 2 bottles?  Bought them from the Shell station in Damansara Heights opposite the Manulife building. Bf was pumping petrol and saw that they had a promotion of buy 2 for RM4.00. Bf thought it was quite cheap and since I liked the drink, he went and bought 2 bottles when he was paying at the counter.

But anyways, back to the bottles - I kid you not, it's not cause of the sunlight or whatever excuse you can think of. The colours of the drink in the 2 bottles were different! We then did a taste test on them to see if there was any difference at all.

The left bottle (darker colour) had slight more tea taste hence taking away some of the sweetness in the drink. The right bottle (lighter colour) on the other hand had just tasted more like sugar water. They were both from different batches I think because the expiry dates on them were different. Someone in the plant must have forgotten to put an extra shot of tea in the right bottle or something. :P
15 January 2010

Bf and I didn't know what to eat one night so we decided to go check out this placed called Darabif in Damansara Uptown. Bf's friend managed to buy a coupon from GroupsMore which costs RM2 and it entitles you to get a burger and fries AND a free membership card which usually costs RM15 for free. With this membership card, you are entitled to like 10-20% (I can't remember which it was) for purchases above RM20. The most exciting thing is that with this card, you also get access to their secret/special menu which is not on the normal menus at all.

This special menu had 3 extra burgers you could choose from. Not going to tell you the flavours cause then it ruins the surprise. Haha! Go get your own membership card. :P

Anyways, me and bf ordered the spicy chicken burger (left) and the wagyu beef burger (right).

It also came with fries (left) and the drink (right - it's more a closeup pic of the logo ON the drink:P )

Food was quite yummy. Both the burgers has very different sauces which made the burgers interested. The fries as well tasted like it was fried with some extra herbs. Our meal came up to RM16.00 even with the coupon. A normal set without the coupon is roughly about RM10 for a single pattie burger and RM12-RM14 for double pattie burgers. The special menu burger sets are at RM16.00 which was what had to pay for as it was a top up from the coupon.

Oh! Last but not least, you could also choose your patties - whether you wanted them lean or juicy. They had this paper (above) as placemats on the trays telling which part of the beef you'll be getting depending on which pattie your order.
