I know this is kinda late to blog about the Energizer Night Race considering it has gotten so much grief from the media since the race. But thought I should just blog about my experiences for the night.

Left the house with my sister and bro-in-law at about 6ish to Sepang and only arrive at about 7.15-7.20?? Kind our fault slightly cause I think we ended up taking the wrong turn and went through the back way which definitely took us a longer time to reach. Anyways, once we got there and parked, only did we realise we had to walk another erm.. 500m - 1km to reach the building. We needed to pee so badly so badly so we quickly used the toilet. We then continued to cross what everyone calls the "tunnel of death". Once on the other side, first thing we saw was that ALL the headlights were gone. Which was our first dissapointment (not a big one but still). Me and sister was just thinking should Energizer know how many people registered? Anyway, didn't really phase us. So we just continued.

Me and bro-in-law were doing the half mara. Once we got there, we heard on the PA system that it was going to start soon ON the track itself. But there was SOOO many people and NO signage on where to go, we were kinda lost for a second. Me and bro-in-law was rushing to try and get to the start line before they started. They started counting down.. I got so desperate I ended up just jumping over the fence. :P We managed to catch our breathes for a min or 2 before the race actually started but the walk FROM the carpark to the starting line already got us sweating!

Anyway, horn went off and we started. We started moving.. but VERY SLOWLY though! To the point that bro-in-law asked to confirm whether we had started. What was holding the line was because we all had timing chips, we ALL had to squeeze through a small lane to make sure we had ran over the mats! I'm sure it took us a good 3 minutes from where we were standing to actually get through the small lane.

Anyway, for the 21km runners, our route was to do 1 large loop outside and then 2 loops inside the track. My outer loop was pretty good - enough water stations (which was all that mattered to me in a run). Only thing I have to complain about was that although they had water stations, they only had 2 tiny tables which resulted to everyone crowding around the tables just to get a drink! Drink stations are just meant to be on the go and shouldn't have a need for people crowding and waiting. I had to even pour my own drink. Anyways, as I was saying. Apart from the small tables, I was quite happy with the run. I was doing good time and was pretty satisfied with the number of drink stations therefore I didn't drink much thinking that I could get more in the next one.

Once we got to the circuit though was a totally different story. Circuit was quite a hard route to run for me actually. Having being able to see the grand stand (which was the start of the loop) the whole time kinda played mind tricks on me thinking that it was just around the corner. Apart from that, it was quite hilly as well! Lastly, there was only 1 drink stop in the WHOLE track which was a 5km loop! Add mind games + hilly + 1 drink stop = total FAIL for me. And that was my only issue with the run. When I finished, I really felt like I couldn't breathe. Felt like I was going to pass our or vomit at the same time. Not sure if that's even possible but that's how I felt.

Everyone had complained about riots during goodie bag pick up etc but I was still doing my run then, so am not sure what happened. I saw the line yes - I heard the lady over the PA system yes. But did not see anything else.

Sorry - really lengthy blog without pictures huh?? Couldn't take any photos cause had left the phone in the car. Anyway, finished my run in really poor timing. Was really not happy with self. Had to walk pretty much the last loop cause I was dying. Left me with a pretty demoralising feeling right after the run and have not ran since that night.

A coupla months back, one of my bf's friends suddenly asked if we were interested in going to watch the World Lion Dance Competition. I was like wtf as first because I didn't even know where was such a thing! And apparently Malaysia has won all championships prior to this! ROFL! Of all things Malaysia beats the whole "world", it's lion dancing! Haha!

Anyways, the competition was held in Genting's Arena of Stars. Tickets costed us RM60 however that allowed us to go for all shows (qualifying and finals). Bf and a few of his friends decided to only go for the finals. Because seriously? Who's going to sit there and watch lion dance for 3 days!!

Anyway, overall I would have to say it was kinda interested. Have not seen a competition of this kind and if you noticed I tagged this blog under sporting events cause I guess it is a sport - right? Malaysia won again this year. At first, bf''s friend told us that part of the score is the "alike-ness" the lion had to a real lion and again I was thinking in my head "wtf... how the hell do you judge that!". But true enough, I saw it with my own eyes, the Malaysian team did have a more life-like lion compared to the rest. However, the other teams, China and all were doing like back flips and stuff and still didn't win! Oh! And the stilts they had to jump on top off! My god they were high! Bf's friend said that the day before, someone actually fell down and broke a leg! *OUCH!*

Anyways, below are just some photos we took of the day. Oh! And speaking of photos! WTF! The host was really 'cheong hei'. EVERY single chance he could get which was in between teams, he would say that flash photography is not allowed and no video taking! Geezz! We get it already! Far out.. :P Just checked the photos I took and they were really not that great. So dissappointing! Haha! So here's just a hand picked few:

Setting of the floor. Check out all the stilts. But thought they were pretty hopesless because only like 2 teams used the bottom right side of the stilts, and another 2 teams used the top right side. Haha! The other didn't even bother!

One of the few photos we took that is actually "clear". LOL! Guess you can guess how bad the other 2 were.

Managed to catch the lion on the screen. This lion looks more like a dog. :P

Check out the tacky lights they put on drums!

Check out the tacky lights they put on the lion! Haha!

Lastly - just a short clip I managed to get which I am not supposed to. Haha! Don't remember which team this was though because frankly, after a while, all of them pretty much did the same tricks. :P

About 2 weeks ago, my bf took me to the Scirocco Cup & Japan GT in Sepang International Circuit. Actually, no wait! Haha! To be correct, Eric took me to the Scirocco Cup & Japan GT. Haha! Cause he had the extra ticket. Not my bf. :P My bf was kinda there for work because he works on the VW account. Eric, on the other hand, managed to get the tickets because he recently just bought a Scirocco! Hehe.. :P

Quite exciting I have to say. Have never been to the Sepang International circuit before and have only seen those races on TV. So yea, something different. Overall? It was just loud and you probably see the cars drive past you for like 2 secs each lap. LOL!

Anyway, day started out be meeting up my house and we headed out to Sepang in 2 cars because Eric had to go somewhere after that. So we headed out - 45 mins drive to Sepang. As we were reaching, there were actually billboards to promote the Japan GT. I never knew that it was such a big thing. Haha! but you're talking to a car dummy here so can't say much :P

Anyway, after about another 10 minutes! We finally arrived!

I met up with Eric to pick up our tickets while my bf went off to park elsewhere because he wanted to get to another carpark which was nearer to the grand stands. He didn't know whether we would be allowed to get into the grand stand because he didn't know what tickets were going to be given out. Anyways, so after picking up the tickets, we just walked aimless inside and finally reached the circuit and actually managed to catch the start of the Scirocco Cup. Not knowing where to go, we stupidly went and sat in the heat at first! It was freakin' hot that day as well. We were so tempted to leave right after the Scirocco cup which was what we went to see. :P

Photo of the start of the cup. =) You see all the glassed up area? That's where the grand stand is. Sheltered and air-conditioned. :S Underneath the glass area, is the pit stop area.

After the race, I msged my bf to say what kind of tickets we had and only then, did we realise that we were allowed to go to the grand stand and the experience was much better! Haha! It was sooooo much cooler, they gave us freebies, and also there was food! I was starving because I haven't had lunch yet and if not mistaken, I went for a run that morning as well!

Anyways, after we managed to lug our half burst asses over to the grand stand, they actually opened up the pit for people to go see the cars (and girls). I would have loved to go but I was too busy cooling down from the heat and also wouldn't have wanted to fight with everyone down there.

Check out all the people! Photo from above the grand stand and rght opposite where Eric and me were sitting initially.

Can you spot the guy with the "Pit Walkabout" banner?

Eric & Me enjoying the grand stand. =)

Anyways, after that, we kinda went to check out the "garage" - the area where they kept all the cars when have finished their race. Don't think we were allowed to go there but knowing the "security" in Malaysia, nobody even stopped to ask who we were.

A banged up Scirocco...

The apparently really dressed down GT "queen". Haha! :P

Eric managed to get his photo with the girls. Hehe.. Pretty or not?! Bf says the girl next to Eric is FHM's girl next door. *woot*

Anyways, we headed back to the grand stand just before the start of the Japan GT race. People were actually allowed on the circuit to check out the cars before they started.

So many people!!

Managed to get a shot of 2 out of the 3 (?) GT queens running back for shelter when the race was about to start

We didn't stay till the end. After a coupla laps, we left. Wasn't going to sit and watch the cars finish like 54 laps! :S So we started to walk back to the car which was quite far away. BUT! we managed to hitch a ride! Check out our ride! :P

And we all managed to fit! LOL! Thank you to our smiley and friendly driver!

All of us, hanging for our lives. The photo of Eric & Michelle was like take 4. LOL! I couldn't get the right angle to take their photo. Bf had to do it in the end.

Last adventure before we headed home? Bf's car couldn't start! So had to jump start the car. :S

P/s: More photos on my Facebook. Those interested, can go and see. =)
Monday, 11 January 2010,

So my bf decided to take me to a basketball game last Saturday - KL Dragons vs the 'Phillippines Team' - LOL! I don't even know their names. Anyways, his sister managed to get us tickets or rather helped us buy tickets. This would mark the 2nd ever live basketball game I ever went to. The first was in Australia like years ago - Sydney Kings vs. 'I-don't-remember-who'. Haha! And as far as I can remember, I did not think that game was anything extra ordinary. Either that or it was just so long ago that I don't remember anything.

Anyway, so made it to MABA. We were late so by the time we got there, the score was already 24 - 15 or something like that in favour of us. It was a pretty good game actually. The fact that we were leading pretty much the whole time made it even better I guess because the crowd was going wild. At one point (3rd quarter I think) where we were actually tied with the Phillippines, but in the end, we managed to pull away again and winning like 70 something to 50 something (LOL! don't think I'll make a very good reporter huh? Okay okay, I'll go Google the actual score :P). The score was 77 - 59 (See! I was right! Hahaha!)

Anyways, photos below for viewing pleasure:

A picture of their huge banner

Picture of me and bf after the game. A little unclear. Was "trying" to be pro and not use flash and ended up having a grainy photo.. :( Oh wells.

Band for the night. They were pretty good. =)

Captain of the team (I'm guessing) taking interviews after the victory. LOL! I can't even tell you his name because of a few reaons.
1. Swear my bf said that his jersey number was 12 and told me go back and Google his name
2. There's no 12 in the website! LOL!
3. Can't really make him out considering this is only his side profile and for some reason, all of them kinda looked the same in the website. Haha!

Dude that was estatic when the KL Dragons won or rather was going to win by the time we hit the end of the 4th Quarter. He even started dancing with the cheerleaders!

Oh, speaking of the cheerleaders, they were erm.. a little bit on the erm.. dodgy/not so good side? Haha! Their routines was all over the place!! And they weren't even doing much. Most of the dance moves were the same. Chris' sister even said 1 of them looked like a tranny. Haha! But who am I to judge! If for some reason someone who is reading this is part of the squad - I'm sorry! :P

Last picture. Some dude from the Phillippines. Can't be bothered checking out his name. But Chris' sister and her friends seem to like him, so am guessing he's good? LOL! :P

Anyway, all in all, a pretty good evening. Something I'd never done before since coming back. Think we're gonna catch the next one as well vs. Singapore on 17 Jan.
